The Amazing History of Wedding Invitations

Have you ever wondered where and why people started sending wedding invitations?

They actually started a long time ago all the way back in the 12th century which was before the ever popular printing presses had even been invented. The way people invited others to weddings back in this time was 100% word of mouth. They didn’t just invite people that they knew, although the towns were a bit smaller back then so they probably knew a lot of the people. They would walk down the streets of the city announcing their wedding as loud as they possibly could and anyone that could hear the announcement was automatically invited to the wedding. Obviously wedding didn’t cost as much back then.

Besides not having any mass printing capabilities, the main problem back in the middle ages was that most people could not even read. Typically monks were hired to make a wedding announcement and instead of writing to many words they would put on the family crest symbol to let the people know who was getting married. This reason is why you see so many crests or coat of arms on many of the invitations today. The crest is not just used for show and because it looks pretty, but back then it served a great purpose. Also, back in the middle ages the announcements showed your place on the social ladder because they were usually sent to only people in the highest classes.

Being Beautiful On Your Wedding Day

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I’m pretty sure that there are some universal truths when it comes to beauty, such as considering Cindy Crawford as having one of the most striking faces on the planet, or that the more appealing a face and body is, the easier it is to be infatuated with the person. Most men in fact, choose pretty girlfriends and brides even if these girls do not rank very high in the intelligence department.

Silly as men’s preferences may sound, they constantly search for beauty no matter what. Having a beautiful partner is not only great to look at, but it is also boosts their ego, which is very important for their masculinity.

Ladies, on the other hand, fully sensing that men are more receptive to pretty faces over ugly ones, resort to measures that will land them their man and eventually, the wedding of their dreams.

With the help of fashionable clothes, slimming diets, the right hair and make-up, and a vamped-up sexuality, most women will do anything to achieve what society defines as beauty to get the man or groom of their fantasies.

Sadly, many will subject their bodies to painful, invasive procedures in order to achieve a flawless face and sexy body. The world can be cruel in terms of promulgating beauty as having big breasts, a round butt, a slim waist and being a size 0 or 2. Due to pressure and esteem issues, many women will go to great lengths to be just like this, thinking that men only adore them for their external qualities. We must never forget however, that outside beauty can fade, but the inner character of a person is eternal and is what truly matters.

How to Look Beautiful on Your Wedding

It is common for any man seeking a beautiful lady to have as wife, to consider less of the woman’s origin or her past. Most men tend to believe once the woman meets his own set up standards of beauty then she qualifies to have the heart of this man. That means what matters most to this man is the ability of her to make men’s head to turn.

What such men need to know is that beauty is not the key for getting the right bride, this view can make a man end up picking the wrong bride even though she beautiful and leave out a less cute girl who might be the perfect bride.

What most ladies are willing to do so to attract the men they want can really fascinate a man. Women are willing to do a lot so that they can be able to make most men who love to see beauty get satisfied. As it is always said, the consumer is always right and should get what he or she desires.

To stay ahead of the game and be more attractive to most men, most women who are beautiful and know they have the potential to be brides ensure that they maintain and even enhance their beauty by use of make up and by being constantly updated with the ever changing fashion trends.

For those who cannot be able to change their appearance by beauty products tend to resort to surgery and liposuction so that they can be as beautiful as they want, but true love means more that it means also looking at the inner beauty.

Creative Wedding Favors You Can Make

Making your own wedding favors is a big trend and even if you are not particularly creative there is something every bride could make for her special day. Whether you go all out and make something from scratch or simply make up color coordinated candies in pretty boxes, making your own favors is sure to delight your guests and provide a personal touch to your wedding day.

Easy favors for the not so creative bride:
Use small paper bags, white ones would be best if you cannot find them in coordinating colors, and order a customized stamp from a stationers. Many stationers offer different design options so you can include text and a small picture, you can also choose self-inking versions or a plain stamp you need an ink pad for. Once you have your stamp handstamp your bags and fill with your choice of confectionary. Fold the top over about 1″ and punch holes through the folded section so you can thread ribbon through and tie in a bow.

Simple favors for a novice creative bride!
Make your own scented sachets or mini pillows with fabric squares and lavender seeds. You can use patchwork squares which are anything from 2-4″ across, simply place them back to back and sew around the edges leaving a 1″ gap so you can fill with lavender, finish by hand sewing the gap closed. You could also add a small loop of ribbon so they can be hung up and if you are particularly good at sewing or have an embroidery machine you could embroider you names and wedding date onto them.
